A series of 3 batiks from spring 2012 all painted in my garden studio. The title “Richard’s Flowers” is what it’s all about. I wanted to paint some sunflowers because the flowers in my garden were not yet out and I felt like being cheered up by yellow flowers. Richard bumped into me in a florist asking for sunflowers but it was March and far too early for them, so he took pity on me and took me to his garden where we picked all these beauties. I then photographed them from many angles and chose this ‘in your face angle’ to work from.
