This batik is the story of my life from birth to death and back again.
It was the first time I used hemp cloth as a medium for the hot wax and dyes. It acted like a canvas and could paint fine lines of colour which remained as I painted them. Working on my usual fine cotton this isn’t possible as the dye spreads out into the fibres.
